A Fresh Start: Reflecting on 2024 and Exciting Updates for the Year Ahead

After 11 wonderful years of running my handmade apparel brand by myself, 2024 was a year of transformation and experimentation. It marked my first year transitioning from operating my made-to-order collection full-time to focusing on sewing tutorials. As I step into 2025, I’m thrilled to share some reflections, updates, and exciting plans for the future.

Lessons from a Year of Experimentation

2024 was all about trying new things. Shifting from creating bespoke apparel to crafting sewing content was both exhilarating and challenging. I had my fair share of successes and failures, each offering valuable insights.

I learned which ideas resonated with my audience and where I could improve. Some experiments hit the mark, while others taught me the value of flexibility and the importance of staying open to change. Through it all, I’ve remained committed to learning, adjusting, and trying again—a mindset that keeps me inspired every day.

Keeping Tutorials Free and Accessible

One of my most important goals is to keep my sewing tutorials free for everyone. To avoid paywalls, subscriptions, or Patreon fees, I’ve decided to return to a 9-to-5 tech day job. This choice ensures that I can balance financial stability with my passion for teaching, allowing me to continue creating valuable, accessible content for all.

A Sneak Peek at My New Work Room

In preparation for this next chapter, I’ve been hard at work reorganizing my sewing room. It’s becoming a dual-purpose space—a cozy corner for my tech day job and a creative hub for sewing and filming tutorials.

Once it’s finished, I can’t wait to share a quick tour of my new workroom with you! I’m also excited to reveal my upgraded filming setup, which will enhance the quality of my upcoming tutorials. Stay tuned—it’s going to be a game-changer!

Updates on Orders

For my amazing customers, your patience means so much to me. Orders will continue to ship out in small batches weekly, ensuring every item receives the care and attention it deserves. Your support has been a cornerstone of my journey, and I’m endlessly grateful.

Planning for 2025

January is my time to reflect, regroup, and set goals for the year ahead. Any unfinished goals from 2024 are rolling over, giving me a chance to refine and focus on what matters most. The break I took at the end of last year was rejuvenating, and I’m ready to tackle 2025 with fresh energy and a clear vision.

Downsizing for Creativity

As part of this new beginning, I’m downsizing my sewing machine collection. While it’s bittersweet to let go of some machines, I’m excited to donate a few to local libraries in South Jersey. I hope these donations will inspire others to discover the joy of sewing and spark creativity within the community.

2024 taught me the value of experimentation, adaptability, and embracing change. As I move forward, I’m eager to share more tutorials, insights, and updates with you all. Thank you for being part of my journey—your encouragement keeps me going!

Here’s to creativity, community, and fresh beginnings in 2025. Happy sewing!
