Celebrating 10 Years of Agashi, Plus Order Updates 2/3

Happy February!

This month marks a special milestone for Agashi as we celebrate 10 years in business.  Reflecting on the past decade, it's been a rewarding yet challenging journey.  As our brand grew rapidly, I realized it was time for a change and pivoted to teaching, a more manageable workload.  The reality of being a slow fashion maker is that I've created thousands of handmade pieces for my amazing customers and have only made myself a handful of items.  Teaching sewing while also building my own me-made wardrobe is my ultimate goal.  Sustainable fashion is about the balance of wearing both slow & fast fashion.  A low-buy/high-DIY personal wardrobe should consist of new, me-made, vintage and secondhand apparel & accessories.  

I've been taking advantage of the weekends to declutter and organize my sewing rooms, discovering forgotten boxes of old samples and ready-to-ship items. While I won't be introducing new apparel designs for now, I'll continue adding to our clearance section with the best deals ever on Agashi designs. It's unclear how much longer I'll offer made-to-order designs, so now is the perfect time to grab them while you can.

Regarding my digital patterns, they're taking longer than expected to finalize, but once completed, they'll be ready for a long and successful life.  Patternmaking is such an important step during the designing/sewing process.  Sewing is 90% prep and 10% actual sewing.  

I'm excited to dive into the world of live streaming this month.  As a public-private individual, I'm looking to connect with my audience in real-time, beyond just posts and Tiktok/Reel videos. I'm currently working on finding the best days and times to go live, to accommodate my global audience. Based on my research, I believe a combination of afternoon and evening streams will be the most accessible for my followers. I'm particularly drawn to Tiktok's live streaming capabilities and look forward to engaging with all of you soon.
