The good, the bad and Order Updates (Halloween edition)

Hello everyone,

Happy Halloween (every day) weekend!!  I hope you are having a fun and safe holiday weekend.  Halloween is always another work day for me so I'm staying busy as usual.  My annoying COVID cough is finally gone, but this month I have been dealing with some brain fog and fatigue.  Just grateful that I'm continuing to work comfortably from home.

Some exciting news is my first official interview, since Agashi began in 2013, is available now from my favorite sewing machine maker Juki at SewinwithJuki. Check out this Juki Brand Spotlight to learn about my sewing and Agashi journey.

I was surprised (in a bad way) by Fabric.com's sudden closing.  They have been an amazing source of fabric/materials for apparel makers and crafters.  I had a saved cart of fabric and preparing to checkout when this was the site's frontpage.  They will only keep their Amazon shop open, but I will not be ordering from there.  The prices will be much higher and the business discounts will not be valid through Amazon's site.  I have read many negative experiences from customers who have tried ordering Fabric's items through Amazon and it has been a complete nightmare.  I'm really sad to have another fabric supplier close down.

I order most of my popular fabric from wholesalers, but below are some other fabric resources:

Fabric Wholesale Direct
A large variety of fabric and great for knits.  Sign up for their rewards for discounts.

Etsy
Plenty of independent fabric sellers.  I always ask if they offer any discounts for bulk orders so don't be afraid to ask before placing your order.

Joann
Better to shop in-store with plenty of locations across the US.  Always stack their coupons when shopping in-store and ask for free fabric bolts (at the cutting station) to use at home for storage.

Mood Fabrics
Prices are higher, but I recommend their fabric for smaller sewing projects.  They have an amazing catalog of free sewing patterns too.

Another budget-friendly fabric source is upcycling your own clothes and thrifting bedsheets/linens.

If you don’t see your order number, your order is packed up for shipment.  You’ll receive the tracking confirmation email after your order has been mailed out.  If any address changes need to be made, please email me at support@agashishop.com asap!

A majority of these open orders will be finished and shipped before Black Friday weekend.  I will not be participating in Black Friday weekend again this year.  My priority for 2023 made-to-order designs, is to offer them in small Ready to Ship batches every few months.  The sizes will be flexible size ranges like my Velvet Bat Wing Kimonos.

I'm still catching up on emails and shipping.  Please be patient as the last week of October is always extra hectic for me and I'll reply to everyone as fast as I can.  I always appreciate your patience.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fun & safe Halloween weekend!
